The uniqueness of the PM4 training makes it extremely appealing and interesting for all the trainees. Learning by active involvement in a real project means that the participants are highly motivated and committed.

The participants experience the effectiveness of project management methods directly in a realistic setting without any form of simulation: problematic project situations that actually arise in the PM4 Children Project are lived through and dealt with.

All the public relations work lies in the hands of the participants. The team is also responsible for finalizing negotiations with sponsors and other involved parties.

Reaching an agreement within the project team is also a skill that must be learned: errors in communication must be avoided, and in stressful situations it is not only essential to keep your nerves but also to make sure that team solidarity is maintained. Conflict within the group or with sponsors must be resolved.

The participants are confronted with a great variety of problems from the entire spectrum of the dynamic project business: inadequate quality and performance, scheduling problems, increased or unexpected costs. Resource shortages and requests for changes must be responded to in an adequate manner. Possible risks should be carefully monitored over the entire course of the project, and this or that crisis must be overcome for the success of the project. The quality of the project planning is best gauged by the problems that arise later in the implementation phase.

In PM4 real money is being managed. In conjunction with the requirement for a restrictive budget it becomes clear how important sound cost managment is. And the particpants experience how much can actually be achieved with a minimum of funds.
